I joined Ultimate Multisport in June of 2019. I was looking for accountability and structured workouts but I've gained so much more. I've met amazing teammates, traveled to new destinations for training and camp, been pushed beyond what I thought my limits were (in a good way!) In just 3ish short months of training with Jimi, I was able to take off over an hour off my half Ironman time!! Fast forward to 2020 and I was eager to see what I could do with my Ironman time.
Obviously COVID struck and plans were derailed. I fell into the mundane cycle of quarantine and work and was feeling discouraged with my body image and lack of racing. Jimi challenged me to run every morning for 30 days and I honestly thought he was crazy, also pretty sure I laughed when he said it. You could say I have a strong dislike for running and have not always been the most disciplined with getting all of my workouts in. What was just 30 days back towards the end of July has now turned into a quest of 200 days without missing or shortening a workout (February 10th, where you at?!)
I have gained so much throughout this journey that has turned me into a stronger person. I have woken up earlier than I care to admit but now naturally wake up early and can tackle more on my days off work. I look forward to my workouts rather than dread them. I can workout in any sort of weather which will definitely be an advantage for race day. Most of all I have been able to completely change my mindset. I've been able to just clear my mind when the going gets tough and get through it. Who knows how the long the streak will continue but I will definitely look back on this time during challenges throughout life and know I can tackle anything!
Jimi has helped me improve in so many aspects. I've gotten faster and stronger in all disciplines of triathlon. I've become resilient when challenges arise and have become more confident. Training with Ultimate Multisport has definitely been a blessing in my life. I'm eagerly looking forward to more races and the training journey to come!
